issues with the internet

Well, right now we're actually trying to get our internet connection to work. You're probably wondering at this point, "John Mark! How are you able to connect to the internet? Do you have magic powers?" The answer, sadly, is "No, I do not have magic powers, but I wish I did." I'm actually "borrowing" from someone else's network (I know there's some official term for that action), probably from next door, and the connection is suprisingly fast, even though I have a weak signal. Hopefully, though, I'll be able to connect to our home network too. We just got our DSL upgraded, but the router isn't working with the new modem (for those of you who don't speak Geek: The guys came and made our internet faster, but we're having trouble connecting to the wireless signal). This seems to happen every time we "upgrade" or get any kind of new technology. It's Windows, I tell you! The main computer in my house is Windows-based, and it's just not clicking. Why can't things like that just WORK?? I mean, isn't that what's SUPPOSED to happen? Can't the router just connect to the modem, and end there? Can't we all just get along and live happy, peaceful lives without having to dial customer support the moment we install something (or attempt to install something)? If Jesus were here right now, I guarantee that he would say something like, "I tell you the truth, he that finds a way to solve this problem shall obtain the riches of the Kingdom of Heaven." We will have truly entered the future when things ALWAYS just work.

Anyways, enough of my geek rambling. School today was great, it was Wacky Tacky day (although it was a shame not having chapel with our wacky outfits), and tomorrow will be class colors day (green for our class, though it WOULD have been black, but the thieving juniors STOLE it!!) I'm looking forward to Superhero day, which is on Thursday. That will be great. Props to whoever came up with that idea.

I'm almost finished reading Great Expectations, so hopefully I'll be able to start on That Hideous Strength soon, so that I can complete that trilogy (I highly reccomend all of these literary works that I have mentioned). After that, I don't know what I'll be reading, but I'm hoping that I will be getting more of it in my schedule, since I spend quite a bit of time on the computer. It's easy for me to lose track of time when I'm on, which is not good. The computer starts to hurt my eyes after a while. Too much of anything is never a good thing (and that INCLUDES World of Warcraft or any other games, all you gamers).

Well, I'm exhausted now, so I'll say goodbye.
